About Us
Brenda Galey is the Owner of Galey MsGuided Fly Fishing. She grew up on a ranch in Nebraska in the United States where she started fishing at four yrs. old.
Brenda immigrated to Australia with her partner in 1992 and then spent twenty years mapping forest throughout the northeast, high country and central highlands of Victoria. During those years during lunch and after work, every minute was spent exploring the mountains and high streams, fly fishing for brown trout and rainbow trout. Some of her favourite rivers are the Mitta both above and below Dartmouth dam, the Upper Murray and Indi, the Howqua and of course Nariel Ck.
After retiring from mapping Brenda decided to create a space for learning and enjoying the art of fly fishing. Brenda went to the US and completed the Reel Women guide School and fell in love with rowing drift boats. In 2018 she ordered a custom made Adipose Boatworks Flow and imported the vessel to Australia.
The Goulburn River is her home waters where she offers Drift boat fishing for trout in the Mae Fly.
Brenda is a Certified Casting Instructor with Fly Fishers International. “I firmly believe in learning to cast with a professional. Its just like any other sport. Learn the right way the first time from an expert and practice. Don’t learn bad casting and then have to fix it!”
